Farm Sheds in Melbourne
At Shed City, we’ve been designing our farm sheds specifically to suit the needs of Australian farmers and farms for the last 50 years. Our Farm Sheds are built durable to sustain our harsh weather conditions and the high demands of farm life. We only use robust and high quality material, meaning you get the best possible end product. We will custom build to fit your farm’s specific requirements and ensure a quality product that will endure all you throw at it for many, many years to come.
Farm Sheds and Light Industrial Kits require very accurate manufacturing and assistance with components because of their larger size. No matter your requirements, we have a solution for you!
For farm sheds, each frame is comprised of two (clear span) or more columns / uprights supporting rafters across the width of the building. Some larger farm sheds have back to back bolted C section frames.
Frames manufactured by Shed City are roll formed from steel coils to produce structural members 150mm (6”) wide, 200mm (8”) wide or 250mm (10”) wide depending on the designed span and to suit the farm shed style chosen.
Shed City fabricate all frame members for field / on-site speedy bolted assembly of your chosen farm shed.
Shed City uses a bolting system completely throughout our frames and other kits we manufacture, with tec-screws only being used to fix light weight materials, such as cladding, which does not create a shear section which can snap tec-screws. Our designs can be assembled quickly without the need of specialised skills.
The space between the frames of a steel building is called a “Bay.”
Shed City Frame Sizes
The Shed City standard building is configured with multiple 3m (10'), 3.6m (12'), or 6m (20') bays, and can have openings of 6m (20') or 7.3m (24').
